Active KSA
Active KSA, the department that is all about getting outside, exploring, getting active, and above all having fun! We all need a little break from campus every now and then, and this is the best way to get that break.
We host multiple off-campus events throughout the semester that are free or low-cost for KPU Students. We do anything and everything from axe throwing, to kayaking, to bowling, and, of course, exploring the nature around the Lower Mainland. Every semester brings with it a brand-new schedule of exciting events. Space is limited with these so make sure you book your spot early! Sometimes getting off campus isn’t an option, but we still think it is important for students to have a break and move their bodies. We work closely with KPU Sport and Rec on all things health and wellness related. Together, we plan loads of great on-campus events. Our personal favourite is the annual Amazing Race. Check out our photos of all the wild activities participants have had to do in previous years!
If you’re on the Richmond campus, check out the yoga studio schedule and join us for a yoga class.
We love hiking and spending time in the Lower Mainland’s beautiful nature, and because we love it, we are serious about protecting it. The Lower Mainland has a great public transit system, and we take full advantage of it whenever possible to reduce our carbon footprint. If an off-campus event destination is not reasonably accessible through public transit, we’ll make sure to have a shuttle bus available for students.
Check back in frequently so that you never miss an activity!

How do I register for an event?
To register for an Active KSA event, there will be a Register Here button at the bottom of the event page. This will link you to our Eventbrite registration pages. Online registration is required to register for an event.
-
How do I pay for my event registration?
We do our registration online through Eventbrite which allows you to pay for your registration using a credit card. If you don’t have a credit card, or don’t want to pay online, you can go to a Member Services desk to pay for the event. They accept debit, visa, and mastercard. Once you pay for your registration at Member Services, you will receive a code that you can use when you register online for the event on Eventbrite.
-
Is there a limit for each event?
Most events have limits due to transportation, staff, or third party restrictions.
-
Can I bring my partner, friend, or relative who are non-KPU students to the events?
In some events, you can bring someone who is not from KPU, and when you do, that person will be charged the full cost of the event since only KPU students get the subsidy. If there is a waitlist of students, any non-KPU student’s registration may be cancelled. We advise that you do NOT bring your children to our events. Some of the events that we go on require a minimum age to attend. However, there are some events that are more family friendly.
